A frequent flyer missing home? Avail of Smart's Plug N' Talk

This is a great service for OFWs and frequent fliers. Filipinos abroad can now call any landline or mobile number in the Philippines using the Internet at a low price. Smart Communications has just introduced its newest service which allows a subscriber from anywhere in the world to access the Smart network via the Internet and enjoy call rates for as low as P6.50 per minute and text messages for only P1.

Say goodbye to international roaming charges. With Plug ‘N Talk, Filipinos overseas can receive calls and text messages from relatives in the Philippines for free.

The Plug ‘N Talk kit will be sold for P1,800, which includes the Plug N’ Talk device, an earpiece and a free Smart Pinoy SIM. Note: For existing Smart users, SMART Plug N’ Talk works with all prepaid and postpaid SMART SIM cards like SMART Buddy, SMART Pinoy, SMART Gold, and SMART Infinity currently available in the market, except for SMART Gold with Multiline capabilities, SMART Kid and SMART Bro SIMs.

The Smart Plug ‘N Talk will be initially available at the Ninoy Aquino International Airport (NAIA) Terminal 1 and the Mactan Cebu International Airport. Units are also available at the Smart Wireless Centers in SM Megamll, SM North Edsa, SM Southmall and SM Ermita.

Hey, it's a great pasalubong gift for relatives and friends based overseas. =)

There are some countries with very strong anti-VOIP regulations (due to legal and revenue concerns) particularly in South America. Others such as India and some EU-members have places restrictions on its usages. I'm not certain as to how Plug-n-Talk will be impacted since this is a hybrid product. Because there are different regulations across different countries, for specific concerns I suggest that you contact Smart's Customer Service (*888) before buying a unit.
As a personal aside, I wonder why they're not available at the Ayala Ave. Head Office.
