Sometimes a Painting Needs a Little Insight

Works of art are appreciated by their own merits. But oftentimes a painting or a sculpture has a story that adds to its worth. Or a brushstroke, almost imperceptible, that needs pointing out, and
expanding a painting's dimension.

John L. Silva's renowned three-hour tour of the National Museum's painting and sculpture collection incorporates history, interpretation, and even a little humor.

Get to know the Philippines from as far back as 40,000 years ago through its fascinating archaeological artifacts from stone-age tools to exquisite textiles.

Understand the country today with its colonial period collection from Spanish ware to American architectural influence on the two buildings housing the National Museum.

All tours begin at the rear entrance of the Museum of the Filipino People (formerly the Finance Building) located on Finance Road and fronting Rizal Park. Tour covers two buildings and over 20 galleries.

Come and discover a fascinating Philippine past. It will astound you.

Tours start promptly at 10:00 AM and ends at 1:00 PM.

Calling all graduating college students: Sign up for practical money management lectures

As part of its grassroots financial literacy program, Pinoy Smart Savers Learning Center (PSS) will conduct free talks on practical money management for graduating (or recently graduated) college students. PSS has identified young individuals who will soon join the workforce as one of its key targets for their literacy program so they can get off to a good start in managing their personal financial affairs.

Many young professionals who have just started to earn their own money tend to spend it all on things they can live without and saving is farthest from their minds. Before this becomes a lifelong habit and lead to lingering money problems, PSS would like to intervene and share with the graduates, simple and practical money management strategies. These proven, time-tested and easy to follow strategies & tips will help young Filipinos secure a better & brighter financial future.

The talk which will be held within the school premises will be delivered by Mr. Alvin T. Tabanag, author of “Kaya Mo, Pinoy! 12 Steps to Build Wealth on Any Income,” the most complete locally published money guide for ordinary Filipinos.

To all interested student groups, colleges and universities who would like to avail of free talks on practical money management please send an email to kayamopinoy@yahoo.com with the name of your school, address and preferred date of the talk and the contact person. You can also call (46) 416-1385 or text the info to (0917) 502-3149.
