Listen to the Entire Great Gatsby Soundtrack care of NPR

"The Great Gatsby," starring Leonardo DiCaprio and Carey Mulligan, opens in theaters on May 10.   Directed by Baz Luhrmann, the movie has been generating a lot of buzz not just because it is a reinvention of a well-loved classic novel by F.S. Fitzgerald by a star studded cast but also because of its soundtrack.   Executive produced by Jay-Z, it features high-wattage artists such as Florence + The Machine, Beyoncé, Fergie, and Lana Del Rey.   The question begs to be asked: Is all that glitters gold?  Stop whatever you are doing and judge for yourself.  Listen to the soundtrack, which is streaming in full over at NPR days before its May 7 release.

 Here is the tracklist:
1. 100$ Bill - JAY Z
2. Back To Black - Beyoncé x André 3000
3. Bang Bang - will.i.am
4. A Little Party Never Killed Nobody (All We Got) - Fergie + Q Tip + GoonRock
5. Young And Beautiful - Lana Del Rey  [my personal favorite
6. Love Is The Drug - Bryan Ferry with The Bryan Ferry Orchestra
7. Over The Love - Florence + The Machine
8. Where The Wind Blows - Coco O. of Quadron
9. Crazy in Love - Emeli Sandé and The Bryan Ferry Orchestra
10. Together – The xx
11. Hearts A Mess - Gotye
12. Love Is Blindness – Jack White
13. Into the Past - Nero
14. Kill and Run - Sia

Papa's Ketchup Gives Away Free Books!

I've always felt sad about the lack of good public (or private) lending libraries in the Philippines.  How do we encourage our children to read when books can be quite expensive?

I was so happy to receive the news about the tie-up between Papa's ketchup and Adarna books:

"Buy a 1-kilo bottle of Papa Ketchup and get a free Adarna House mini-storybook!  The cute storybook collectibles are now available through supermarkets and grocery stores. The available minibooks are Ang Mahiyaing Manok (written by Rebecca Añonuevo and illustrated by Ruben de Jesus), Bakit Matagal ang Sundo Ko? (written by Kristine Canon, illustrated by Mariano Ching), and Noong Unang Panahon (written by Rafaelita S. Valera, illustrated by Ghani Madueño). "

Make this a collaborative effort and join forces with your fellow moms to collect all three!    Buy in bulk, split the cost/ketchup and set up a playdate to share the books.
